You probably do not remember me, and we never met, but about 10 years ago you wrote a review of my poetry book The Hush Before the Animals Attack. I’ve always wanted to reach out to you as I was so touched and amazed at your understanding of my poems and the clarity and beauty in the way you expressed your thoughts. Thank you and I’m sorry for the passage of years.
I have recently completed another book of poems and would like to propose an idea to you. I’ve sent it out to a few publishers with no bite. I’m thinking that it might be very beneficial to have you look at the manuscript and give me your thoughts/edits to make it more viable in the current poetry marketplace. You also might have suggestions of publishers.
I understand this is work and I would be willing to pay you for your time. I don’t have an estimate of how much time it would take or if you have an interest in this type of work but I’m eager to speak further with you about this idea.
